How to Use Rosemary Extract for Weight Loss

Rosemary has been used for centuries as a spice and medicinal plant; it has been approved in Germany to treat digestive orders. According to a Nestle Research Center study, rosemary extract was able to inhibit weight gain in a study done on mice, possibly because of rosemary extract’s ability to inhibit lipase activity. Lipase is an enzyme that the body uses to break down fats. Rosemary extract may make you feel fuller by delaying the digestion of fats.

Step 1

Take two 400 mg rosemary extract tablets up to three times per day. According to a Nestle Research Center study, carnosic acid in rosemary extract inhibits lipase, therefore delaying the digestion of fats to make your stomach feel fuller.

Step 2

Eat a balanced, low-fat, high-protein diet. The theory is that by eating well and taking rosemary you will eat less and therefore consume fewer calories.

Step 3

Exercise for at least 30 minutes a day, four times per week. Along with eating well and eating less, exercise will help you burn off any excess calories and lose weight. In Germany, rosemary is approved to treat joint pain and poor circulation according to the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. Therefore it could help you recover faster, feel less pain from exercise and therefore workout more.
